Join us in shifting the technology sector!

July 31st – October 3rd, 2023

Attend an information session to meet our brilliant facilitator and/or register for one (or multiple) conversation paths.

Imagination

“For this year’s conversations, which will flow along four paths, Diedra invites Black technologists to step into the power of imagination both in their own being and in community with other Black technologists.”

North Path

East PatH

South Path

West Path

For students, the first generation of likely celestial terraformers – grow a steady earth foundation.

This path is designed to offer students space to ponder and imagine what the future of technology means for each of us as individuals and to engage the conversation from an abundance of possibilities and not solely from our current oppressive and controlled reality. I invite you to consider how a robust and active imagination loosens our deeply-held ideas about the connection between imagining and perfection. We will focus on what it means to approach YOUR future in technology within a profoundly imaginative, expansive, and exploratory framing.

We breathe new air into existing systems and relationships.

A series of conversations designed to create a space where folks can imagine what partnership and/or collaborative work-based engagement that deepens our experiences of liberation and choice in these times means to them. We will engage in a spacious and curiosity-filled conversation that can lend itself to imagining beyond the current ideas (and limitations) about what is possible. Perhaps by allowing our imaginations to inspire and bring light to our conversations, we can expose the deep roots of indoctrination and complicity that can restrict how we currently imagine what partnering and collaborating means, how these relationships flow, and where new ideas can flourish.

WHO IS THIS PATH FOR?

This path is now open to ALL Black technologists, regardless of role, or employer.

Black technologists who are currently (or were previously) employed in the technology sector regardless of their role.

On the path facing South, we aim to fire up our imaginations.

A series of conversations designed to create a space where folks can explore what accessing and growing imagination in these times means to them. This exploration space is housed in a container created to engage, explore, and expose the depths of our imaginations beyond and beneath the surface of things. We will contemplate what IMAGINATION means from the “I” and what being IMAGINATIVE feels like when engaged with intention and without seeking a specific solution or perfection.

We flow like water, exploring REST and rejuvenation for the Black body and mind.

A series of conversations designed to create a space where folks can explore what rest in these times means to them. This space of exploration is housed in a container that is created to engage, explore, and expose the depths of our imaginations beyond and beneath the surface of things. This engagement will allow us to expose the deep roots of indoctrination and complicity that structure our current society’s control of how, what, where, and when our authentic being senses and defines REST and IMAGINATION.
